About us

Partisan Books publishes and distributed books for anti-fascists. Our aim is to inform and educate our movement, but also to celebrate the brave men and women who have fought fascism and organised racism over the last 100 years.

It is the brainchild of HOPE not hate’d Nick Lowles and Matthew Collins, who, between them, have more than 60 years experience of exposing and reporting on some of Britain’s most hardened and dangerous fascists and nazis.

Nick began as a volunteer at the anti-fascist organisation Searchlight in 1988, before moving working on TV programmes such as World in Action, Dispatches and Panorama. He took up a job at Searchlight in 1996, leading on intelligence and later editing the magazine. HOPE not hate emerged as its campaigning wing in 2004 and in 2011 HOPE not hate Charitable Trust and HOPE not hate Ltd was formed. He has written six books on the far right and football hooliganism.

Matthew’s anti-fascism began in a slightly less orthodox fashion. He was a member of the National Front (NF) in the 1980’s before turning his back on fascism and working inside the NF, British National Party (BNP), and Combat 18 as a mole to expose and undermine them. He has written two books on the far right, one about his early years as a teenage nazi and the second the story of the now banned nazi terror group National Action.

Partisan Books will publish and distribute anti-fascist books from around the world. Please sign up to our newsletter to be kept informed about our expanding catalogue.
